5 jours, 50 personnes, 500 kilomètres, c’est le défi relevé en août 2012 par Mobile en Ville, dans le cadre des jeux paralympiques de Londres 2012.

Ce projet s’inscrit dans les thématiques du sport, du handicap et de la solidarité avec pour objectifs :

Valoriser l’image du sport comme facteur de rencontre. Une activité permettant aux personnes en situation de handicap et valides de faire équipe pour un objectif commun.
Promouvoir le dépassement de soi par le sport pour atteindre un objectif ambitieux et relever un vrai challenge sportif.

Fidèle à sa philosophie, Mobile en Ville veut démontrer que les personnes en situation de handicap et valides peuvent s’unir pour réaliser de grands projets de la conception à la réalisation. »

C’est avec enthousiasme que Mobile en Ville a accueilli des participants européens (anglais et belges) lors de ce défi, et avec encore plus d’enthousiasme et de fierté qu’elle a assisté à la création d’une association sœur anglaise : Wheels & Wheelchairs.

Wheels & Wheelchairs fête aujourd’hui avec succès ses un an d’existence et permet à des londoniens en situation de handicap et valides de se retrouver régulièrement pour partager des randonnées mixtes et œuvrer pour l’accessibilité dans leur ville.
